Collingwood Cove Kitchen
Project Description
This was a big Gut-out kitchen job that affected most of the downstairs of the house. We removed several walls and moved other walls and utilities around to recreate the downstairs floorplan.
Now this home has a huge kitchen/keeping room that opens at each end to a diningroom and a family room.
This remodel also included an inconvenient bathroom that is now accessible from the pass thru, and a laundryroom that was practically in the kitchen that is now reconfigured for functionality and moved out of the center of the kitchen space.
The pass thru includes a furniture style cabinet set with a leathery granite I doubt you’ve seen anywhere.
In the main kitchen space we have a 8x4 island so everyone can eat in here if they want. In the custom cabinets we used mostly pot & pan drawers, creating lots of useable storage. The island houses a large oven and is prefitted for a second one on the right. Note the flow of the room from the diningroom all the way to the family room at the other end of the house. This difference opens up the entire house from front to back, making the fanily room no longer a “detatched” room. This project was done partially while the owners were out of town b/c it was a big messy demolition and included beamwork, but the overall project took about 6 weeks start to finish.
