Forest Estates Mantle
Project Description
This was really fun to build. My instruction was to build “something” to house the TV, and all of the equipment, the speakers, the amps, the tuner, the stereo, the cable box, the DVD, the VCR, and make it not only look good, but blend with the adjacent kitchen which this fire place faces. They were happy with my solution. This giant drawer slides out to reveal all the equipment that only gets serviced occasionally, and is hidden when not needed. The flip up panel gives quick access to the VCR and DVD. The speakers are hidden by the cloth panels. There’s no need to open anything to use the remote b/c it’s all routed through a receiver eye in the top right corner that receives all the signals. And for the detailed eye, I incorporated from the kitchen (which I had just updated), the granite, the beadboard, the knotty pine, the scrolled applique, and the crown molding. I’d say it “coordinates” pretty well.
